Always leave them thinking about you, or wondering more about what you are talking about!

These are questions to ask someone or ask at parties for your RECRUITING SEEDS:

If your house payment was made for you 4 times a year, would that make a difference in your family’s budget?

If you didn’t have to make a car payment out of your regular monthly paycheck, would that help you out?

If you could work 5 days for just 2 ½ hours and potentially earn $125 each time, paying off your investment and still have $425 in your pocket for Christmas…would you be interested?

Is there a credit card bill you are afraid to open? Why not try let AZULI SKYE help you pay it off?

Are you loving your job? Are you loving your pay? If not, you might be interested in what I am doing…..

Phrases that you might use at a party or when out and about:

I can’t believe I get to do what I do and call it a job…

I love empowering stay at home moms who want to have their own spending money

I help those in corporate America leave corporate American AND still keep up their standard of living!!

I offer a way for people to rise above their current situation if they are struggling financially

I show people how to make more money daily or monthly!!

I can show people how to change their income situations…

I can show families a way to pay for daycare and not spend their monthly paychecks

Through my business I am a financial lifeline if someone is looking for a Plan B

AZULI SKYE is so flexible we can create our stash of cash when we want it

When you want a new outfit do a party…want a vacation so some parties, want to make your house payment talk to me about AZULI SKYE

Would a $100 in free groceries help you every month or even every week… that’s 1 party!!

Do you dream about winning the lottery, sweepstakes….well you just did!! You just won the opportunity to receive cash every month…or do you want it weekly?? How often do you want to receive your earnings??

Following these simple steps will go a long way to ensuring the party is a success.

Initial Coaching – You will present her with her Hostess Handbook packet and review the first steps.

First Coaching Call –Check on her progress with her Guest List, provide guidance on how to make guest calls and encourage her to get the list to you within the next three days.

Second Coaching Call – Confirm receipt of her Party Guest List.

Final Coaching Call – Build her enthusiasm and confirm the last minute details including directions.

Pre-Party Coaching – Prior to the guests’ arrival, take ten minutes to 1) learn about the guests who are coming, 2) ask who is most likely to book a party and 3) determine who she thinks would make a great Consultant or could use more fun or income in their lives.

Post-Party Coaching – Make the most of each party by contacting the “no-shows” and asking for a booking or a referral.

You should create a Hostess Handbook Packet for each hostess. The hostess packet contains everything your Hostess needs to plan for a successful party.

At AZULI SKYE we recommend the following:

The Hostess Handbook may be presented in a large white 9”x 12” envelope, a high-quality folder or an attractive gift bag. Your local Dollar Store should have a wonderful selection of attractive folders and gift bags at very reasonable prices.

Each Hostess Handbook packet should contain:

1 Catalog

2 Order Forms

1 AZULI SKYE Hostess Handbook

1 Hostess Rewards Flyer

Organization Tip: Many Consultants find it helpful to keep all Hostess Handbook supplies in hanging folders in a portable filing box or crate. When you need to assemble Hostess Handbooks, simply pull from each file folder and place them in the envelope.

In my next blog posting I’ll go over what you should do in each of the above steps.

Do these four things and you’ll have fewer cancellations, higher attendance, and more profits!

1. RAPPORT

Rapport is a harmonious connection shared between two people. When you build rapport with a Hostess, she senses you have a sincere interest in her. Interactions are warm and friendly and working together is fun and rewarding for both of you. Following are some ways to establish Hostess Rapport:

Send a warm, handwritten note

Find a common interest or hobby

Express your interest in her

Learn about her family

Use her name often

Offer sincere compliments

Perhaps the fastest and easiest way to build rapport with others is to commit to conducting your business with the five core principles of success. They are Trust, Respect, Service, Integrity and Authenticity. In fact, these five principles can do more to enhance your relationship with your Hostess than all of the above suggestions combined.

2. MOTIVATION

Each Hostess has a reason for holding her party, which falls into one of the categories listed below. Coach each Hostess according to her primary incentive to motivate her to work toward a successful party.

To receive free and discounted jewelry: Tell your Hostess: “I want to help you get all the free and half-price jewelry you’ve listed on your Wish List, so let’s set a goal to have at least 10 guests at your party!”

To help you build your business: Tell your Hostess: “Because I’m just starting out I need as many bookings as possible so please think of 3 or 4 people who may be interested in their own party.” OR “I’m trying to win the Fast Start Reward Challenge. It would really mean a lot to me if we could shoot for $1000 in sales!”

3. INSTRUCTION

In addition to rapport and motivation, it is crucial that you provide each Hostess with the proper instructions on how to make her party a success. Follow the Six Keys to Effective Hostess Coaching and schedule frequent calls with your Hostess to ensure she understands the next steps to take.

4. APPRECIATION

As you work toward a successful party, keep in mind that your Hostess is your most important business partner. Recognize that she is taking her precious time to support you in your business and introduce you to her friends, relatives and co-workers. This gesture of confidence in you and your product line should be honored with a show of your sincere appreciation throughout the coaching process. When we honor and appreciate the people who support us along the way, we strengthen our relationships and therefore our business.

When you ask for a booking you will occasionally encounter booking objections. Perhaps the customer is too busy, her house too small, she has few friends, or she has had little success with similar events. Accept objections as a natural part of your business and learn to overcome them effectively. This is another important step in mastering the art of booking the home party.

First, learn not to take “No” personally; recognize it simply as a request for more information. Consultants who expect objections and learn to respond to them effectively can often turn a “No” into a “Yes.”

Following are some examples of the most common reasons why Hostesses hesitate to book, along with appropriate responses. Become familiar with objections so you’ll be able to effectively recognize and respond to them.

Objection:

Your Response:

“I don’t have enough time.”

“That’s why you’d make a great Hostess! Busy Hostesses are best because you know so many people. When was the last time you got together socially with your friends? Don’t you think you deserve a night of fun with your friends?”

“My busiest Hostesses are always the most successful because they know how to get things done.”

“I need to check with my friends.”

“That’s a great idea! Let’s pick a date and then you can find out if that’s good for them. We can always change it later.”

“My house is too small.”

“Some of my most successful parties have been in small homes! We’ll just invite a few people who are really excited about seeing the line.”

“Don’t worry; the key to a successful party is quality, not quantity! If you want five guests, we’ll invite ten or fifteen, usually a third will come.”

“I don’t know that many people.”

“You’d be surprised how many people you know that you haven’t even thought of! What about your neighbors, or the moms of your kid’s friends? How about the other women in your exercise class? If a few of them bring along a friend, we’re sure to have a great party.”

“When you invite your guests, tell them I have a special gift for everyone who brings along a friend.”

“How about getting together with a friend and co-hosting a party? You can both invite guests and then split the Hostess credit. Dual parties are twice the fun!”

“Everyone I know is already here now.”

“Everyone in my neighborhood has already been to a party.”

“That’s perfect! Your friends have already had a chance to see the jewelry and know what a great value it is. I’ve found that guests are never able to purchase all the items on their Guest Wish List at one party, so another opportunity to see my line in a week or so will give them a chance to continue adding to their collection.”

Coaching is one of the most critical aspects of your business because it greatly influences the sales and bookings that will result from each party.

Coaching is the motivation that keeps your Hostess working toward a successful party. When consultants nurture this relationship, they increase the party’s potential, as well as the potential of turning the Hostess into a consultant.

There are many ways a Hostess can be coached toward a successful party. I’ll present the best ideas, each of them proven by experience, to be successful. As you develop your Hostess coaching skills, gradually implement the ideas presented in this blog so that your parties consistently generate high sales, bookings and new Consultants.

What Needs To Be In Place?

The success of a party is directly related to the quantity and quality of your contact with the Hostess. A study conducted by AZULI SKYE identified poor communication as one of the greatest frustrations of a Hostess. You can avoid this by keeping in touch and clearly communicating her role in making the party a success.

Consultants who wish to build their business quickly and efficiently ensure a high level of excellence by understanding four elements that maximize every party’s results: Hostess rapport, motivation, instruction and appreciation. These are the keys to more sales, bookings and sponsoring leads.

Put these scripts to use and you will see your business grow by leaps and bounds!

Tips for successfully getting bookings:

Speak positively and with enthusiasm

Make an irresistible offer

Have some dates you want to fill

Always acknowledge the individual first

Give the hostesses 2 dates to choose from

Here’s a sample script for calling a friend or family member. This script was created for my company, AZULI SKYE, but can be easily changed to fit your business.

“Hi Christy, this is Deb. I am calling because I have some exciting news to share. I have just started my own AZULI SKYE jewelry business. Have you ever heard of AZULI SKYE?

No … well, it’s this great new company that offers high quality, affordable jewelry through really fun home parties

Hosting a party is so simple and the hostess program is unbelievable! … Most hostesses get at least $100 in FREE Jewelry and many get $400 or even more. Plus AZULI SKYE offers huge discounts for hostesses., Because I’m a new consultant, my 1st hostesses will receive an additional free gift as a thank you for helping me get started.

But that’s not all … They even offer a special sale for all the guests at a party … For every two items they buy, they can get a third lowest priced item for Half-off!

So, I called you because you are one of my most reliable friends.

It would really mean a lot to me if you were one of my very first Hostesses. You and your friends are so much fun, and I know that you will all fall in love with AZULI SKYE’s gorgeous jewelry. I am so excited about AZULI SKYE, and with our incredible Hostess Rewards Program, I know you will be, too!

So what do you think? Will you be one of my 1st hostesses?

Would you prefer a weekday party or a weekend party? _____. Great, I have ______ or ______ available.”

So don’t be afraid, the phone is your friend!

The only one to set limits on your income and success is you!

There are five basic components to success in direct sales:

Prospecting

Making contacts

Qualification

Handling objections effectively

Closing

Do not fall into the “natural-born salesman” myth. A lot of people feel if they do not have the right qualities naturally they won’t be able to succeed in direct sales. Forget this myth!
You can learn to be a great salesperson – the choice is yours!

Characteristics of a successful salesperson:

Appearance - Make the most of your unique individuality and walk into a room with pride and a commanding presence. Take pride in your selling career and in yourself.

Confidence - You need to “glow” with a sense of self-confidence. Even if you are not the best in sales YET, you can be. Let this feeling of confidence show through to everyone you talk to.

Overcoming fear – Know your fear so you can face it and overcome it! Once you do this, the confidence will shine through.

Enthusiasm - In sales, sometimes you will get the sale and sometimes not. That is to be expected. The trick is to stay enthusiastic even when you do not get the sale. Do not let it bring you down. Keep that enthusiasm going for the next prospect!

Desire - You have to have the desire to succeed. If you have the desire, you can overcome any obstacle and become a success!

Do not take rejection seriously - In direct sales, there will be rejections. Do not let these rejections cause you to doubt yourself. Let them make you stronger and more enthusiastic for the next sale.

Caring and warmth – You need to actually care about your prospect and feel right about closing the sale. Do not try to bully people into buying. Lead them smoothly into a closing that will benefit them.

Continuing education – You need to always be learning. Invest some time and money into your mind and learn how to be the best salesperson you can be!

Great salespeople are not born great. They have the desire to become great. They take the time and invest in themselves

After completing your list, place a star next to the people you think are most likely to hold a party or may be interested in the opportunity. The more you talk to people about holding a home party of their own, the more confident you will feel and the more courage you will have to call the rest of the people on your list.

However your friends respond, keep in mind that it is not personal. Their decision to have a party depends on what is going on in their life, and is not about you. Enjoy the process of sharing, and keep asking everybody you know. Only a small percentage of people will host a party, so the more people you ask, the more home parties you will book!

Use the memory jogger below to build your list.

However, most of us don’t even realize how many people are within our sphere of influence because we’ve never taken the time to look. By completing your Who Do You Know List you will begin to discover how many people you know. Completing this is the first step to filling your calendar for greater direct sales success.

The Memory Jogger below will help you think of the many people you know. Make completing this form fun. Set a timer for 10 minutes. Gather your personal address book, some business cards you’ve collected and any directories of organizations you belong to. Prepare the timer and then… Ready – Set – Go! List all the names you can think of without stopping for 10 minutes. At the end, marvel at the variety of names. Now it’s time to go back and list the phone numbers so you will be prepared to make calls. The true secret to success is to NOT stop there. Continue adding new names every day.

As you build your prospect list be careful not to prejudge whether or not someone will be interested. Many of your most valuable leads will come from the most unexpected sources.

Consultants who maintain a positive, confident approach to booking, and believe in the benefits of their hostess program, find it easier to schedule the number of parties they want to hold. On the other hand, consultants who do not expect to receive bookings, seldom do. You’ll enjoy your direct sales business more and have greater success when you expect success and maintain a positive attitude toward filling your calendar with bookings.

When inviting people to host a party, keep in mind all the benefits your hostess will enjoy as a result of her successful party. She will receive free and discounted product while enjoying the company of friends during her party! A home party is a win-win situation for you and your hostess!

Ask Lots of People

Another key to keeping a full schedule is to ask everyone you know to book a party. In fact, the more people you ask for a booking, the more parties you will have and the sooner your income will grow.

Naturally, you will first look to your immediate circle of friends for support and encouragement. These are the individuals who will likely want to help you get your business off to a great start and are most likely to say “yes” to your request to hold a home party. Only after you have contacted your immediate circle of friends and acquaintances, should you tap into other groups of potential customers.
